**Job Title:** Engineering Manager, Trust and Safety Product  

**Location:** Remote ( Wikimedia Foundation supports remote work globally)  

**Experience Required:** Minimum of 5+ years of experience leading or managing a fullstack engineering team. Proven track record in building diverse, multi-national, and remote-first teams. Demonstrated success in all stages of the engineering process, including product lifecycle management, strategic planning, and execution. Ability to travel internationally up to 2-3 times a year.

**Responsibilities:**  

– Manage a complex stakeholder environment, including internal teams, external partners, and volunteer communities.  

– Coach engineers at various levels, setting personal development goals and mentoring in software engineering best practices.  

– Ensure timely delivery of projects by managing resources and schedules effectively.  

– Drive team processes and meetings to enhance collaboration and efficiency.  

– Communicate proactively with stakeholders both within and outside the team.  

– Triage bugs, incidents, and requests effectively.  

– Collaborate with technical decision-makers on long-term investments in technology and infrastructure.  

– Manage dependencies across teams and assess task scope and difficulty.  

 

**Requirements:**  

– Experience leading or managing a fullstack engineering team.  

– Proven success in building diverse, multi-national, and remote-first teams.  

– Demonstrated impact at all stages of the engineering process and product lifecycle.  

– Ability to travel internationally up to 2-3 times a year.  

– Familiarity with anti-abuse and security work on large online platforms.  

– Experience managing regulatory compliance for online platforms.  

– Knowledge of open-source projects or communities, or experience with open governance (e.g., IETF, W3C).  

– Ability to communicate technical issues with nuance and care.  

 

**Salary Range:** For US-based applicants, the annual pay range is $127,714 – $200,943, adjusted for location and individual factors. Non-US salaries are determined based on local standards.
