Sehgal Foundation invites applications for the position of Field Assistant – Local Partnership and Sustainability on a consultancy basis.

Reporting: Assistant Program Lead – Agriculture Development and Extension

Reports to: Senior Program Lead

Position Requirements:

  • Diploma/Bachelor degree in any discipline from a reputed university
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience of working directly with farmers and village communities in NGO’s/ development sector
  • Good community mobilizations and liasioning skills at village/mandal level
  • Familiar with local socio-cultural, agricultural practices and administration/governance related issues
  • Good knowledge of Kannada and working knowledge of English/Hindi
  • Basic knowledge of computers- MS Office and Internet

Key Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate with project officer and community for smoother implementation of project interventions
  • Implement Uttam Gram Initiative
  • Data collection for Need assessment and evaluation studies
  • Organise the gram sabhas/meetings
  • To mobilize the community contribution
  • Liasoning with local government departments
  • Organise trainings and motivate the community to achieve the project objectives
  • Organise the men, women and animals Health related camps in coordination with local government departments
  • Build good rapport and communication with local community
  • Organise the awareness/trainings programs
  • Document and forward the success stories
  • Monitor and ensure proper documentation of resolutions, community meetings, trainings and exposures visits
  • Organise the trainings of local community and Tank User Groups (TUG) members on Operation and Maintenance
  • Manage operation and maintenance accounts and building the capacity of TUG members for proper utilization of funds
