PATH India is seeking a Financial Analyst responsible for accounting, project financial support, and general administrative tasks for the Epidemic Preparedness and Response program (EPR). Responsibilities include ensuring that all accounting transactions are accurately processed within program compliance, supporting routine financial and budgetary requests, and providing general administrative support to our ongoing project portfolio, when needed and per PATH’s policy.

This position shall report to the Global PADM based in New Delhi, India, with matrix reporting to the Epidemic Preparedness and Response team’s Project Director.

Responsibilities:

Budgetary and Financial

  • Manage monthly financial review and advise teams on long-range budget/planning issues across multiple projects; monitor expenses and budgets; and conduct financial analyses including forecasting and pipelines
  • Provide guidance to and collaborate with Donor Reporting team in preparing financial reports and invoices
  • Update monthly financial trackers for each of the project countries
  • Draft accrual and pipeline reports for review and approval
  • Review and approve financial transaction documentation, ensuring it is complete, accurate, and complies with applicable polices and internal procedures 

Contractual

  • Provide support to technical program to ensure timely and compliant completion of deliverables to investors
  • Assist in management of contracts and subawards, including but not limited to:Supporting tasks within the solicitation processes
  • Validating quotes/budgets for allowability, reasonableness, and allocability
  • Assessing sub-awardee operational capacity and determining required level of support
  • Reviewing and authorizing payment and other requests initiated by Sr. Program Assistant or other technical staff
  • Ensuring contract and subaward record integrity in PATH systems
  • Assisting with closeout in collaboration with technical team and PATH shared services

Business Development

  • In collaboration with the Senior PADM’s in EPR, manage the development of program budgets for investors such as USAID, CDC, and BMGF, including conducting financial analysis, drafting budget narratives, and ensuring compliance with investor requirements
  • Lead cost discussions and negotiations with investors and external partners
  • Develop program budgeting approach and supporting guidance documents
  • Develop tools and frameworks for simplifying budget inputs from technical and management teams

Required Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, nonprofit management or a related field and a minimum 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Knowledge of USAID project regulations required; experience with EU funded project financial management preferred Strong organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, effectiveness under deadlines, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision required
  • Fluency in English is required, with strong oral and written presentation skill
  • Experience in a non-profit organization preferred
  • Experience costing large USG projects preferred
  • High attention to detail with analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite, ability to learn financial systems/software, and SharePoint and Salesforce experience preferred Ability to travel domestic and international up to 10-15% of the time annually, pending resumption of normal activities post-pandemic
  • Team-focused and collegial with the ability to interact with diverse colleagues and facilitate strong working relationships; adept and flexible to work closely with others across geographical distances and time zones
