About us

Lend-a-Hand India (LAHI) is a 16 year old NGO with the mission to integrate vocational education with mainstream education for students from 9th to 12th grade level and equip them with an entrepreneurial mindset to thrive in the real world ahead. We facilitate “school to work” transition for these 14-18 year old in-school students by imparting vocational education and internship opportunities as a part of the secondary school curriculum.

We aim to universalize vocational education and restore “dignity of labor” as lack of dignity of labor is one of the major impediments in India which restricts the youth from achieving their full potential. Currently, more than 1 million+ young students from 10,000+ high schools in 24 states/UTs across India are part of the program.

Majority of our work is in partnership with the state governments by helping the state governments to scale up vocational education in the state under ‘Samagra Shiksha’ scheme of Ministry of Education.

Recently, Lend A Hand India was awarded The organization was recently awarded a system change grant by Co-Impact, a donor collaborative consisting of Rockefeller, Gates, Chandler, Nilekanis and others.

​Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:  

• Responsible for Implementation, Management and Maintenance of Technology Projects.
• Work in coordination with Head Technology/TM/PM/ State Leads on Technology Projects.
• Execute business process improvements related to technical applications, systems development, Design and delivery of software solutions to the stakeholders.
• Provide Technical inputs in the assigned projects.
• Work as per the milestones, deadlines of the projects.
• Interface with cross functional teams, PM/TM and end users to establish requirements
• Coordinate with Managers and PM on day-to-day activities.
• Stay on top of engineering best practices, technology trends, tools and frameworks
• Undertake any other activities and responsibilities, as required by the organization.

Requirements

Skills:

• A strong technical aptitude and ability to learn various software
• Knowledge of Database and Frontend technologies
• Knowledge of Sever Management, My SQL. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and relevant software
• Experience building SaaS applications, preferably 3 years+ experience in full-stack.
• Excellent programming skills in JavaScript and Angular, Node JS, My SQL expertise.
• Hands on using Git.
• Hands on using Linux and scripting to automate tasks and develop tools.
• Basic DevOps knowledge to handle SaaS product deployment on AWS.

Experience and Qualification:

• B Tech and equivalent. 3-6 Years of Experience in Technology projects
• Experience in Software Development Lifecycle and Documentation.
• Experience in Multi location Project Teams.
• Experience in Social Sector is preferable
• Experience in Software Development tools.
