Background:
We implementing workforce-well-being projects in India with a mission to enrich the lives of workers to achieve Health and Well-Being through sustainable workplace programs. The project seeks to work with women and men and also engages with the factory management to enhance capacities to sustain the efforts of worker well-being and also works to influence the ecosystem that promotes, conserves and sustains women empowerment.
We have close to a decade of experience in designing and implementing worker wellbeing initiatives and has been working with more than 400 factories across India directly i.e; Delhi (NCR), Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Karnataka, and has been providing strategic and quality assurance support to various workforce development Initiatives in India and other Asian countries such as; Cambodia, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Swasti has a panel of transformation specialists who can provide strategic guidance and quality assurance support to worker well-being initiatives.
We are looking for mature and dynamic professionals who have knowledge, expertise, and experience in capacity building in the areas of health, well-being, and gender.
About the position:
As a Gender Specialist, the primary role will entail extending technical support for the workforce wellbeing-related programs with a strong focus on Gender Equality.
Core function:
Capacity Building, design, and development of capacity building and learning tools; workplace systems and policy strengthening, monitoring, evaluation, and documentation, and overall technical support to the partners for quality delivery of the projects.

Role and Responsibilities:
Project management:
- Develop and implement plans related to capacity building and behavior change in alignment and agreement with the program team.
- Develop a good understanding of Catalysts Group Employee well-being programs. Pitch and secure funding for our products and services on worker well-being.
- Coordination with partners and other stakeholders in order to schedule and implement project deliverables.
- Setup factory-specific supportive and coordination mechanisms in consultation with the project lead, factory management and the respective brand representatives.
- Work closely with the program team to discuss the progress, challenges, learnings and further action plans.
- Identify and liaise with government agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations, and women’s associations or groups whose work focuses on gender and the specific area of intervention that can be utilized during project preparation and implementation.
Capacity building training:
- Lead the gender and life skills training through the training of internal trainers, external network consultants, concerned organizations, and direct facilitation, as and when required.
- Contribute to designing and incubating innovative gender and life skills training modules to reach different populations.
- Facilitate training for male and female workers, middle and/or senior management as well as other stakeholders as per the agreed modules and methodologies.
- Ensure regular quality assurance of capacity-building training
- Accountable for results of the project and ensuring the quality of implementation meets predefined standards – both internal and those promised to donors and other stakeholders.
Data analysis and documentation
- Ensure data and information collection for quality assurance including baseline and endline
- Conduct Monitoring Evaluation and Learning exercises as per the agreed system within the project to ensure quality implementation.
- Develop high-quality reports /documentation for donors in prescribed reporting formats; such as; baseline, end line and monthly/quarterly/annual reports as per the project requirements; both quantitative and qualitative.
- Assess the intended sustainability of the results and the intervention in advancing gender equality
- Document lessons learned, good practices and innovations, success stories and challenges with focus on gender
- Identify strategies for replication and up-scaling of the identified best practices of the interventions
Other roles:
- Believe in achieving outcomes and be flexible in timings as per the factory’s training calendar.
- Explore opportunities for work and collaborations with other stakeholders and brands in order to expand the worker well-being initiative of the Catalysts Group
- Contribute to other assignments of Catalysts Group by sharing knowledge and technical expertise
- Engage industry leaders; establish partnerships and position Catalysts Group to explore new partnership opportunities.
- Any other tasks that might be assigned from time to time by Catalysts Group
Age and Gender: No restrictions
Desired Qualification and experience:
- Post Graduation, preferably in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Women’s/gender studies or any related field
- Strong presentation and data analytical abilities
- Prior experience in diverse stakeholder management
- Experience in Gender Inclusion and Integration (Systems, processes, policies and specific programs) is required
Work Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience
Geography and Travel:
The incumbent would be based in Tamil Nadu however, 70% of the time would be used for travel every month within the TN state and/or other geographical locations in India.

- Proficiency in Languages (oral and written) – English, Tamil, and Hindi Preferably
- Proficiency in computers, basic software (MS Office), and MEAL

- The incumbent will be assessed by the reporting officer on the accomplishment and delivery of all components described.
