A little bit about who we are
At WOTR, we are committed to tackling the key causes of rural poverty by rejuvenating ecosystems and building the community’s resilience to climate change by enhancing water availability, increasing land and agricultural productivity, diversifying livelihoods, empowering women, and strengthening the health and well-being of vulnerable rural communities.
WOTR brings together practitioners, academics, researchers, trainers, and policy makers to work collaboratively in building the resilience of rural communities. Our partners, including donors and government agencies, stand resolutely behind us to achieve this.
Over the course of 29 years, we have already made a significant impact, having worked in 10 states and 4395 villages, and positively impacting the lives of 4.43 million people. We remain dedicated to continuing this important work and expanding our efforts to make an even greater difference in the lives of those we serve.
A brief snapshot of the role:
The Manager – Human Resources will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that foster a culture of trust, creativity, ownership, outcome achievement and learning within the organization. The role includes designing and leading onboarding and training programs, managing employee engagement and recognition programs, organizing team-building events, and managing internship and mentorship programs. The successful candidate should have between 3 and 5 years of relevant experience, a professional qualification in HRM, and proven leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. They should be able to relate effectively to employees at all levels of the company and have a positive attitude towards problem-solving. The position requires excellent organizational and prioritizing skills, as well as competence in all aspects of the HR function, with a special focus on employee engagement and people development.
As Manager – Human Resources you will:
- Work towards building a culture of trust, creativity, ownership, outcome achievement and learning across the organisation
- Develop, execute, and evaluate an internal communication plan to ensure the vision, values, initiatives, and organizational information are communicated regularly and effectively.
- Design and lead a comprehensive onboarding program including communication, processes, job tools, and training.
- Design and execute a training and development programme to optimise performance, retention, and job growth.
- Lead the development and execution of employee engagement programs and embed the company’s culture across all initiatives/activities.
- Manage and oversee the employee recognition programme.
- Organise employee special events, including but not limited to team building and organisation outings.
- Lead, conceptualise and manage internship and mentorship programs to create meaningful experiences.
- Create and execute an annual E-SAT survey and report findings to management
Apply if you have:
- 4-5 years of relevant experience
- A professional qualification in HRM from a reputed Management Institute
- Professional knowledge and competence in all aspects of the HR function especially Employee
- Engagement and People Development. You must be able to relate effectively to employees at all levels of the company
- A positive attitude towards problem solving, are well-organized, approachable and proactive
Leadership skills and are self-motivated - Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven decision-making abilities and prioritizing skills
