Role and Responsibilities

The Social Science Assessments team at Educational Initiatives is involved in making engaging and insightful assessment tools that test the children’s level of understanding. We are looking for passionate individuals who would love to go deeper into how children learn and engage with Social Sciences and build high-quality assessments that can detect gaps in learning.

• Designing creative assessment items for diagnosis and benchmarking of learning.
• Reviewing and revising existing content based on quality, technical correctness and student performance data.
• Reviewing textbooks and exploring online resources to design content for school students.
• Studying curricula from other educational systems and online resources to learn about the best approaches to teaching a concept
• Researching learning & teaching methodologies through reading and sharing academic journals, analysing student performance data on questions, interacting with external subject experts, teachers and students for insights about students’ learning.
• Leading projects within the team upon requirement
• Sticking to tight schedules and effective workload management

Must have

Technical skills:

• Should have excellent subject knowledge
• Should have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Should have the ability to analyse assessment and learning content critically
• Should have the ability to create and source engaging content for students
• Should have basic technological awareness

Soft skills:

• Should enjoy working in a team and across teams
• Should enjoy healthy debates and arguments which are critical for strong content and product development
• Should have the ability to interact in a productive manner with teachers and students, if needed; this should be geared towards gleaning information that will help us improve our understanding of how students learn and towards improving our offerings
• Should have the ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively manage the workload

Education

Deep knowledge and expertise with a Master’s degree in at least one humanities area.

Experience

5+ years of experience with humanities content based on interdisciplinary expertise, pedagogical research, and the realities of today’s classrooms.
