**Position Summary:**
The Manager, Resilience will be the focal point for advancing inclusive resilience strategies and facilitating C40 engagements within targeted Indian cities. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders across local governments, state agencies, and national bodies to implement climate action, particularly focusing on heat resilience. The Manager will facilitate knowledge transfer within the C40 network and deliver tailored technical assistance to cities.
**Responsibilities:**
* Support C40’s South and West Asia cities in implementing resilience measures from their climate action plans, focusing on vulnerable populations.
* Lead the coordination and delivery of resilience strategies, integrating them with city-level planning and policy frameworks.
* Utilize climate and health data to support cities in advancing resilience measures addressing health risks and promoting equitable urban resilience.
* Oversee contracts and procurements related to resilience work, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
* Collaborate with C40’s Regional Director and city officials to align resilience and adaptation actions with national and sub-national policies.
* Identify and establish partnerships with local stakeholders, national agencies, and civil society.
* Elicit learnings and best practices from implementation processes and share this knowledge within the C40 network.
* Ensure data collection and reporting on program KPIs.
* Coordinate with other C40 teams for a unified city support strategy.
* Facilitate city engagement in C40 networks and initiatives.
* Support fundraising and implementation of C40 climate action programs.
* Organize and deliver C40 events in the region.
**Qualifications:**
* Minimum 5 years of experience in climate adaptation, urban resilience, or related roles, with a focus on implementation in the context of extreme heat or climate vulnerability.
* Postgraduate degree in environmental/climate science, urban/environmental planning, public policy, or a related field.
* Strong background in climate risk assessments (especially heat resilience), public health, and urban climate action planning.
* Demonstrated experience working with municipal governments or in a multi-stakeholder urban setting.
* Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis for vulnerability assessments and adaptation planning.
* Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), data management, and analysis skills.
* Familiarity with climate change adaptation strategies, particularly heat-related risks in urban settings.
* Technical knowledge of urban climate resilience measures and their integration into city policies.
* Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills; English fluency required. Knowledge of local Indian languages is a plus.
* Demonstrated problem-solving, budget, and people management experience, including working with third-party delivery teams, and ability to manage multiple parallel tasks.
* Experience coordinating and facilitating interactive workshops.
* International experience working across different cultures, languages, and time zones.
* Right to work in India.
**Compensation:** (Grade 4) INR 1,707,126 (gross per annum)
**Term:** Fixed Term Contract until July 31, 2026
