India Leaders for Social Sector (ILSS) is a non-profit that aims to be India’s preeminent leadership development organization for the social sector. We aim to increase the effectiveness of the top 500 nonprofits in the sector by 2x to create catalytic impact at scale.

Overview

To achieve the mission, ILSS has a three-pronged approach:

● Bringing corporate talent into leadership and board positions in the social sector

● Running well-researched capacity building programs in critical domains for the social sector

● Building the social sector ecosystem to instill a strong focus on high-quality talent / talent development

Since 2017, ILSS has run successful programs like:

● Flagship Leadership Program with 13 editions (across in-person and online), designed to enable senior leaders from various sectors to learn about the social sector and become part of it. The program currently has 240+ Alumni, out of which 110+ have already transitioned to the social sector

● A Board Program for CXOs in the corporate sector to serve as board members for nonprofits in the social sector. The first edition had 18 senior leaders participate

● A Fundraising Program with over 145 current Alumni who are leaders responsible for resource mobilization in their respective organization

● A People Practices Program which has completed its first pilot online and is gearing up for the second one in person

Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial Program Manager to lead and drive communications & brand management at ILSS. The Program Manager will work in a highly dynamic environment with a closely-knit, highly motivated and entrepreneurial team that works hard and parties even harder. Roles & Responsibilities: As Program Manager (Communications & Brand Management), your key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

● Enhancing ILSS’s brand as the foremost learning and development organisation for the social sector

● Developing visual, graphic and written content for ILSS’s outreach and communications, including but not limited to brochures, newsletters, and marketing collaterals such as press releases and interviews, in alignment with the brand guidelines

● Driving and increasing user engagement in ILSS’s social media channels by developing and launching campaigns, monitoring user reach and engagement, and driving cross-posting with partner’s social media channels

● Identifying new channels and events for increasing outreach and driving new initiatives for the same

● Developing and designing all communication from the ILSS team to external stakeholders for events and other partnerships, such as posters, outreach emails, partnership emails

● Planning and managing content as well as audience database for our monthly newsletter.

● Liaising with vendors for the production of physical collaterals & films

● Proofreading and vetting all communication material from the perspective of the brand guidelines and positioning in the social sector

● Supporting the PR agency and addressing their content requirements, monitoring and tracking their progress and performance

● Supporting the team in outreach, marketing efforts and program management

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

● 4-8 years of experience in a marketing and communications role

● Excellent written and oral communication skills

● Understanding and experience of digital marketing – LinkedIn campaigns, Google Ads

● Comfortable working with Google analytics tools

● A master’s degree from a reputed university is desirable

● Strong editing and proofreading skills and an eye for design and detail

● Strong creative and aesthetic sense

● Ability to work on designing platforms/software such as Canva, Mailchimp, Photoshop, etc. Proficiency with Canva is a must.

● Strong people management and networking skills

● Strong planning and organisational skills

● Ability to manage projects independently

● Video editing skills are a plus for the role

Selection Process

The shortlisted candidates will be sent a pre-work assignment based on which they will be invited for an interview.

Compensation

Depending on the candidate’s experience, ILSS offers compensation on par with Indian philanthropy pay scales, and the range for this role is Rs. 9 – 12 lakhs based on experience.
