About the Role

QUEST Alliance has been working with the secondary schools across 9 states in India implementing the IBM STEM For Girls programme. The programme focussed on developing 21st century skills and STEM Mindset among the adolescent girls and support them in carving a journey to continue education beyond secondary grades but also to take up a career in STEM field.

In the state of Odisha QUEST Alliance has been implementing the programme directly and also through partnership with other civil society organizations. Over the next three years the programme aims to build the capacity of 20,000 teachers to transform as 21st century educators and reach out to over 16,50,000 learners across the state. QUEST and its partners are also working on building at least 4 Model Schools in each of the 30 districts of Odisha over the next three years.

As Programme Officer, you will be primarily responsible for managing the implementation of programmes in QUEST facilitated direct implementation Model School in the state. You will be  responsible for managing a team of facilitators who will work closely with the learners and teachers in schools, you shall also coordinate and work together with the PO Partner Management to cascade the intervention in districts facilitated by partners. You are also responsible for leading the training and content work for the model schools in the state. Following are the detail responsibilities: –

Capacity Building

  • Support in development of capacity building plans for facilitators and school teachers. Ensure implementation of capacity building plan
  • Coordinating with the pool of freelance facilitators for the capacity building workshops
  • Supporting the workshop design and delivery by co-facilitating and developing training agendas in consultation with the Education Specialist
  • Curate learning material for the capacity building workshops
  • Ensure quality in content translation and design
  • Facilitate the task force meeting with members of QUEST and partner team in order to ensure the plans are being implemented in schools

 School Implementation

  • Design the agenda and flow for school based events – career days, hackathons, parent teacher meets, teacher orientations
  • Mentor the team of QUEST facilitators in implementation of the programme in schools
  • Facilitate uptake of STEM Club and implementation of the strategy in schools
  • Lead implementation of all innovation and research based projects in the schools
  • Work closely with the Program Officer – Partner Management to ensure that the programme activities and approach are being cascaded to the partner districts

Reporting

  • Ensuring the documentation of workshops
  • Ensuring that the feedback data feeding is into the training dashboards
  • Analyzing the training dashboard to generate insights around the gaps that the training needs to address
  • Submit all the relevant monitoring reports on time. Ensure all the relevant data for the project is available well in time
  • Work together with M&E focal point to track project progress based on the M&E framework
  • Ensure the program process is documented and enough case studies are in place to show the impact or progress of the program.
  • Ensure the data is analyzed and feeds into the planning and review meeting

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any discipline (preferably social work, development, education, gender studies, rural development)
  • 2-3 years of work experience preferably in the Education sector
  • Proven ability to network and establish collaborative relationships with a variety of actors, including Education department
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • A strong personal commitment to the values of Quest Alliance

 Preferred skills and Experience:

  • Loves technology, any sort of direct work on ed tech projects
  • Have previous experience of working on tech related work
