**Job Type:** Full-time

**Purpose:** To shape research efforts aimed at increasing the share of distributed renewables (DRE) in India’s electricity sector, focusing on consumer adoption, equitable incentives, and supportive policies and regulations.  This involves power system modelling, stakeholder engagement, and policy analysis.

**Job Duties and Accountabilities:**

* **Strategy:** Support the development of the Energy Transitions program strategy, engage with funders and stakeholders for partnerships and resource mobilization.

* **Research:** Conceptualize and implement projects assessing the increase of grid-connected DRE technologies; conduct power system modelling studies; develop innovative market solutions and policy interventions; identify DRE deployment issues and opportunities from a state perspective; evaluate research products.

* **Project and People Management:** Lead project implementation in various states; manage a multi-disciplinary research team; expand the team by hiring; lead outreach efforts; assist with financial reporting and budgeting; build relationships with government, industry, and institutional partners.

**Selection Criteria:**

* **Qualification:** Master’s degree in renewable energy technologies, economics, public policy, or a related field.

* **Work Experience:** At least 7+ years of relevant experience in research, policy/industry engagement, and project management in electricity policy, distribution, energy modelling, and renewable energy.  Experience writing policy briefs and research reports is essential.  A strong track record of team and project management is required.  Demonstrable experience in stakeholder engagement at national and state levels, working with public and private institutions in India and internationally.

* **Key Skills:** Strong analytical and research skills; proficiency in tools such as Plexos, GridPath, PyPSA, and MS Excel (STATA/R/Python is a plus); excellent written and oral communication skills; proficiency in Hindi and English.
