Experience:

5 – 7 years of experience in the field of rural development among which atleast 3-4 years of experience in team management.

  • Experience in implementation of sustainable agriculture and livelihood development and experience in leading and managing diverse implementation teams are desirable.
  • Should be capable of meeting short deadlines and producing quality materials with a fast turnaround.
  • Solution-oriented, creative problem-solver, who can be versatile and is willing to work around obstacles.
  • An ability to work in teams is essential, as well as the ability to work independently and to multitask.

Job Profile:

  • Lead the implementation of AKRSP(I) low carbon agriculture programme in the district, ensuring high quality delivery, community responsive, sustainable, and impactful programme.
  • Oversight and technical support to the low carbon agriculture project and agriculture components of the holistic rural development programmes in the respective location.
  • Lead and support the adoption of sustainable and regenerative agriculture practices, including conservation agriculture, zero tillage, agro and farm forestry, in-situ soil and water conservation.
  • Ensure the development of robust M&E and MIS systems covering all programme components (interventions on common lands and common assets, private agriculture lands, water bodies, soil health, biodiversity).
  • Ensure that programme implementation is in accordance with AKRSP(I) implementation guidelines, including the global programme framework and donor guidelines.
  • Guide and mentor, a core team of DOs and para workers of 15 villages and ensuring field implementation of approved workplans and budget. 
  • To initiate learning and experience sharing platforms to facilitate cross-learning among field teams and support the adoption of best practices related to community-led sustainable and regenerative agriculture programmes.
  • Support interventions to reduce methane emissions from livestock rearing, including ration balancing and sustainable manure management.
  • Support marketing alternatives for low carbon/ sustainable agriculture produce and the development of community institutional platforms (eg Farmer Producer Companies, SHGs) to facilitate farmers access to more remunerative agriculture markets.
  • Generate periodic progress reports, annual/ half-year work plans and budgets, analytical fact sheets, monitoring reports, and case studies.
  • Scan and identify sector innovations and best practices for adoption in the programme area to ensure the delivery of a high-quality programme.
  • Coordinate and liaison with external technical partners
  • Support the development of proposals and concept notes for resource mobilization and donor dialogue.
  • Ensure regular dialogue with other sector leads at the state level to facilitate convergence of activities at the community level.
  • Support the organization of donor field visits (including the preparation of background documentation for the visits), visits by AKRSP(I) units, and other partners/stakeholders
