Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent would closely work and report to the Project Manager, Plastic Waste Management. Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Programme Manager, Circular Economy the Project Associate will perform following activities/ duties/ responsibilities:
- Act as focal point for the NCR region
- Review monitoring reports in terms of problems and actions needed as well as for impact evaluation and to support in identifying the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation
- Work closely with Project Manager and provide support in developing plans, budget proposals, monitoring and reporting activities
- Establish processes and systems for effective implementation of M & E strategies as per the M&E framework developed under the project
- Support in developing partnerships
- Coordinate between Donor, UNDP CO, Field staff, implementing partner, ULB, and other Govt and Non-Govt stakeholders to facilitate project implementation in the respective cities;
- Support in adoption of digital tools for enhancing efficiencies;
- Perform any other tasks assigned from time to time by the Programme Manager, Circular Economy, UNDP

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- High School Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related area is not a requirement, but it will be given a due consideration
Experience:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience (3 years for candidates having Bachelors degree) in working with communities and with minimum 1 year in Waste Management, preferably plastic waste management.
- Good analytical, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills on the impacts from project.
- Good command of Resources Based management tools
- Understanding of solid waste management sector
- Experience in planning tools and applications
- Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive constructive attitude
- Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities
- Ability to prioritize assignments and requirements, and multitask as needed
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to integrate technology into various aspects of the project for planning, rollout and monitoring
Required Languages:
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Hindi is essential
