EdIndia is reaching out to its clientele – teachers and “future teachers” in particular and the school education system in general – through its programs Pragyan, Nirnay, and Teachable.

Tripura enjoys a place of prominence among EdIndia’s intervention states. Along with the Pragyan intervention in 100 schools of Tripura, Nirnay is working with the system for data analysis and data presentation, as well as an innovative school-community intervention in 10 ADC (tribal majority) schools of the state is trying to bring the two together. To strengthen its field interventions in Tripura, EdIndia is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator who will be based in Agartala (Tripura) and will work closely with the local field team, academic team, and State Manager.

Job Description and Responsibilities

It is a full-time Long Term Consultant role with probation for an initial period of 6 months. S/he will be responsible for the fulfillment of all kinds of program requirements. Key tasks being:

• Report to the State Manager and manage the delivery of project results tagged to capacity building and mentoring of the teachers through event-based and regular on-site support mechanisms.

• Provide on-site academic support to the teachers of selected schools on a day-to-day basis.

• In coordination with the academic team, provide academic support to other field team members; design, develop, and execute M&E measures, and develop quality content as per the requirement of the program.

• Work closely with district and block officials of the Department of Education, Govt. Of Tripura. Pragyan is intervening in Government Schools and Institutions impacting more than 2 lakh teachers from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tripura and Uttarakhand. The project aims to support teachers in enriching their classroom teaching/learning practices by making available teaching ideas and content as well as by discussing relevant issues through various e-platforms.

Nirnay is aimed at building a data driven decision making culture in public eco-system. It analyses data available within the education domain and makes it available to a range of stakeholders in such a way to help them see clear pedagogic and administrative implications. Nirnay is helping the public education stakeholders of states like Maharshtra, Tripura, Chhattisgarh and Arunachal Pradesh.

Teachable is a program aimed at helping pre-service teachers (those studying to become teacher). It is creating content and addressing training requirements for Pre-Service Teachers for Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand. The project is one of a kind aimed at creating a cadre of skilled Future Teachers for India.

• Other key responsibilities shall include but are not limited to; Stakeholder management and coordination, Teacher capacity building, and Vendor liaison.

• Achieving Quality Results: Sets priorities, develops a work schedule, monitors progress toward goals, and tracks details/data/information/activities.

Qualifications:

• A masters in the relevant field of Social Development/Education/Technology and experience in working with Government schools is preferred.

• Exposure and experience working in Maths/Science/English subjects at the Elementary level

• Exposure to leveraging technology in educational interventions.

• Experience in conducting participative capacity-building programs for teachers.

• Hands-on computer skills, including MS Office. Familiarity with technology would be a plus.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience closely working in the education system.

Remuneration & Benefits: Remuneration will be competitive with Indian philanthropy pay scales and will depend upon the candidate’s experience levels.
