**Programme Overview:**
Peepul partners with the School Education Department, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, on initiatives like the CM RISE Schools Programme (aiming to build ~10,000 public schools) and the PM SHRI Schools Programme (developing 14500 exemplar schools nationwide). Peepul plays a key role in the design and implementation of academic interventions within these programmes.
**Job Description:**
The Project Manager is crucial to the continued partnership with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Peepul’s strategic objective of improving the public-school system. This role involves leading and driving the design and delivery of interventions to support and hold accountable teachers and academic officials. The ideal candidate will blend education expertise, problem-solving skills, and stakeholder management to create, implement, and track high-quality initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Lead project design, piloting, and implementation of interventions for academic reforms within the CM Rise programme, focusing on teacher support, accountability, and student learning improvement.
* Design, pilot, and develop interventions (e.g., Professional Learning Communities, mentoring programs, recognition mechanisms, remedial learning solutions) in collaboration with government counterparts.
* Liaise with district/division/block level officials to drive interventions at the local level.
* Develop interventions that improve teacher mindset, knowledge, and practice.
* Lead intervention pilots, document learnings, and refine designs for greater impact.
* Work with government stakeholders to build knowledge and capacity.
* Define success metrics and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
* Provide academic support to a designated set of schools, conduct co-visits, demonstrations, and teacher-level scaffolding.
* Plan and sequence programme interventions in coordination with the Project Coordination team.
* Create effective work planning systems and conduct regular work reviews.
* Manage 1-2 associates and provide guidance/review on their deliverables.
* Develop project evaluation tools with the M&E team and external experts.
* Facilitate sessions (training, focus groups, learning circles) with teachers and officials.
* Collaborate with Teacher Education Institutes and government officers.
* Design strategies, interventions, and follow-up mechanisms; mentor fellow associates; and create division-specific documentation aligned with programme objectives.
* Foster a collaborative team culture.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with government partners.
* Build partnerships with other education non-profits to leverage expertise and resources.
* Build capacity within government teams for sustainable self-improvement.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
* **Educational Background:** Relevant background in Education, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field.
* **Work Experience:** 4-6 years of experience leading and managing education-related projects, preferably within the public school system or education non-profits, with a focus on designing and implementing academic reforms or educational interventions. Preference given to candidates with direct classroom and teaching experience within the government school system.
* **Skills:** Strong project management skills (planning, implementation, evaluation); excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* **Language Proficiency:** English and Hindi.
