The position Project Officer of Talent Development in Bal Mitra Mandal is designed to lead Community Social Workers, support them in developing and implementing plans as per the requirements of a project and ensure reporting of work as appropriate. The Talent Development program an effort to ensure that the children in the slum communities have the opportunity to develop their talents and confidence in fields such as music, theatre, dance and sports. The program will culminate in a Talent Competition at the end of the year among all the children in the slum communities.
Job Description (Role Expectations)
The role will entail and not be restricted to the following responsibilities:
Programme
- To supervise Community Social Workers and provide direction to the team on implementation of the Talent Development Project in Bal Mitra Mandal project.
- To support Community Social Workers in designing work plan and activities for talent development in child friendly communities and ensure overall implementation of work plan
- Ensure development of children in the talent development areas of the programme
- Coordinate training resources (artists) for the communities
- Local resource mobilization
- To oversee collection of data and preparation of project/ progress reports in accordance with available schedule
- To monitor preparation of reports and finalisation of reports as per schedule
- Conduct weekly/ fortnightly/ monthly meetings with staff, seek and apply inputs from the staff for effective programme implementation
- Ensure that project activities are carried out within the agreed budget
- Undertake field visits to oversee implementation of agreed action plan and effectiveness of the field staff
Administrative
- Identify need based training of the staff in accordance with organisational policy and carry out annual appraisal based on agreed work plan
- Maintain separate files for each project/community
- Maintain records of all project related correspondence
- Perform any other duties/responsibilities assigned by the supervisor

Education, Experience and Exposure
Education
o Advance degree in relevant discipline from institute/university of repute preferably covering social work as a topic of study
Experience & Exposure
o Minimum 3 years experience with at least 1 years in people management role
o Professional experience of directing and managing programs at regional/national level
o Fluent in Hindi and English
o Managerial Experience of handling multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams
o Professional experience of working in a grassroots NGO or foundation
o Start-up experience is desired
