KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaison with Child Care Institutions (CCIs) across Bangalore, Chennai & Ernakulam districts, conduct need assessment and create operational plans to drive implementation..
  • Execute the Scholastic Awards Program which includes student selection, organizing annual award ceremonies, communication and coordination between program stakeholders, documentation and impact reporting.
  • Executethe After-School education program, CCI Grants and Partnerships for various impact initiatives.
  • Recruit and manage volunteer chapters for project implementation.
  • Set up project management processes that enable volunteer teams to run smooth, efficient project execution.
  • Be available to support/coach and guide volunteer teams.
  • Create a knowledge base based on the feedback from the ground and accordingly tweak or change operational design of the projects.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years experience in community engagement/fellowships OR project management / project implementation in the development sector.
  • Experience or strong interest in building or working with multi-city volunteer networks with skills in coaching/mentoring a team of volunteers/interns.
  • Familiarity with South Indian languages (eg. Kannada /Tamil/Malayalam) is good to have.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Good email/telephonic and in-person communication. Good writing skills.
  • Comfortable working with softwares like Google Suite, MS Office, etc.
  • Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently and organize around efficient travel arrangements.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in field conditions, objectives and on-ground requirements

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Guardians of Dreams is a non-profit organization working to upgrade and transform the quality of care across Child Care Institutions (like children’s homes, open shelters etc) in the country. We believe that Child Care Institutions (CCIs) are the bedrock of childcare in society; and their capacity & quality determines our ability to provide effective childcare to the 2 crore+ vulnerable children in India. We operate across Bangalore, Chennai and Ernakulam through a network of 300+ children’s homes with a team of 8 full-timers and 100+ volunteers.

The programs we run include:

  • Scholastic Awards: financial support is provided to meritorious students from 10th & 12th grades to facilitate their smooth transition during their final years at the Children’s Home.
  • Education: after-school tuition support is provided to children in primary grades to ensure better learning outcomes for children in Children’s Homes.
  • Grants: financial support to Children’s Homes are provided to improve their quality of care and operations.
