About the Organization
Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, a premier Think Tank for MoHFW, is mandated to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.
Job Responsibilities:
- To ensure effective management of various court cases and providing legal inputs with respect to PC&PNDT Act and Rules
- To maintain and update a calendar of events and briefs for ongoing court cases on a regular and timely basis and plan the course of action for notices received.
- Coordinate with ASG/ Central Government Standing Counsel, Astt. ASG with regard to pending cases before the High Courts and Supreme Court
- Visit High Courts and other Courts to attend and brief the ASG, CGSC, Astt. ASG
- Draft the para-wise/ point to point reply to the petitions & various applications of the court cases pending in Supreme Court & High Court
- Assisting & drafting amendments in the PC&PNDT Rules and Act for the PNDT Division of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
- Preparing legal briefs and comments for ASG and CGSC on behalf of RCH Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
- Attending and conducting orientation sessions, conferences, seminars, capacity building sessions and reviews organized by PNDT Division
- Drafting counter affidavits, affidavits and replies on behalf of the Union of India i.e. Ministry of Health and Family welfare
- Performing independent research and analysis of specific legal matters, monitoring the legal matters
- Attending the hearing of important court matters and briefing the maters to the Central Government Counsels and Ld. ASG
- Any other task assigned by Competent Authority
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum qualification of graduate degree in Law from a reputed University.
- Minimum 4-6 years of post-qualification experience in legal matters. Experience with government at national or state level, familiarity with the public health system, and relevant government policies/ strategies, particularly National Health Mission /RCH is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of handling court matters at the level of High Court and Supreme Court of India.
- Excellent communication skills, drafting skills and good working knowledge of computers
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and working knowledge of Hindi are required and should have computer knowledge in MS Office and other applications
- Strong interpersonal relations, communication and team-work skill.
- Formal educational qualification, experience and age could be relaxed when there is a published work of high quality or whenever there is work experience of specific relevance
Salary
Between Rs. 90,000/- to Rs. 1,50,000/- per month.
