Habitat for Humanity International is seeking to hire a professional and experienced Senior Director, Transformation Portfolio. The Senior Director, Transformation Portfolio will coordinate the establishment of project management, decision making, and resource prioritization systems, tools, and culture necessary to execute HFHI’s highest priority strategic initiatives. The role reports to the VP Strategy but requires critical partnership with senior leaders in HFHI’s business enablement functions, particularly finance, information technology, human resources, legal, and communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and cross-organization adoption of project portfolio management systems and tools across HFHI.
  • Work with senior leaders to facilitate the establishment of a norms and standards for prioritization “decision hygiene” across HFHI.
  • Coordinate project leaders for HFHI’s priority strategic initiatives.
  • Clarify and facilitate adoption of governance standards for priority strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure HFHI has clear systems to make, document, communicate, and track project prioritization decisions, with an appreciation for inter-connected effects.
  • Assess barriers to implementation of HFHI’s SMG-identified Strategic Initiatives, and recommend options for successful execution. This will require close coordination with senior leaders in HFHI’s business enablement functions and operating programs.
  • Assess best practices among external comparator organizations and measure HFHI’s project management and prioritization capabilities against industry standards.
  • Facilitate ongoing project prioritization by senior leadership. Prepares meeting materials, structures and leads discussion to drive to decision-making.
  • Coordinate closely with Sr. Director, Integrated Planning on alignment of project management systems and enterprise planning systems.
  • Ensure that key prioritization and process decisions are communicated to appropriate internal audiences via effective collaboration with the Global Communications Team.
  • Ad hoc facilitation and support for priority project management exercises.

Requirements

  • Pursuant to current HFHI policy, this position requires full vaccination against COVID-19, except to the extent such requirement is prohibited by applicable law.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience with a minimum of 8 years in management consulting or a similar strategy and planning role.
  • Substantial experience managing complex projects.
  • Substantial experience managing project prioritization systems.
  • Demonstrated record of driving projects to deliver tangible results and sustained impact.
  • Ability to provide effective counsel to senior leaders across a range of business enablement functions on project portfolio management and complex project governance.
  • Ability to identify needed relationships and alliances within and among organizations that increase likelihood of success.

  • Experience MS Teams, SharePoint experience helpful.
