ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY – SENIOR MANAGER, L&D, PEOPLE
Learning & Development (L&D) is a strategically important role at Medha. The Manager – L&D will be responsible for developing and implementing an organization-wide Learning & Development strategy that facilitates and drives individual development and capacity building in line with the organisational requirements.
The position will involve collaborating effectively with people at all job levels for conducting competency mapping, career pathway planning and training needs assessment across the organisation.
The Manager, L&D works closely with business managers, project heads, and various leaders across the organization, to ensure:
- A clear and shared understanding of organization’s objectives, goals and activities so that we introduce training & upskilling programs to build strong teams across the organisation.
- A detailed mapping of each and every job role across the business units, work responsibility & expectations, and competency requirements.
The Learning and Development Manager will play a critical role in designing, delivering, organizing and coordinating Learning and Development (L&D) activities within the organisation.
You should be a friendly, self-motivated team player with strong research and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
What you will do:
This position requires you to be passionate about helping people learn and grow٫ and to possess excellent communication skills. Some of the main areas of work include:
- Prepare an organisation-wide L&D policy document and implement high impact learning strategies and programs in line with business needs and priorities.
- Conduct competency mapping and career planning exercise for all job roles across the organisation.
- Review individual and organizational capacity building needs by establishing strong partnerships with the business units.
- Design, organize and coordinate various L&D programs for staff throughout the year and measure their impact.
- Deploy different kinds of learning methods٫ such as coaching٫ job-shadowing٫ live projects, blended learning, peer learning, and so on to ensure that all employees have the required competencies to excel in their roles.
- Monitor the success of L&D programs, collect feedback and help employees make the most of the learning opportunities.
- Collating feedback on completed training to evaluate and measure outputs and outcomes and make improvements where required.
- Sourcing and recommending partners to design, develop, and/or deliver learning solutions where applicable., oversee budgets and negotiate contracts.
- Act as the principal point of contact in the organisation for anyone with questions about L&D, upskilling and career development.
Things we are looking for:
- The candidate should possess an MBA or PGDM with specialization in HR or PG with work experience in the HR domain.
- Must have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience and a good understanding of HR strategy & practices, L&D programs, instructional design, content development, training delivery, and evaluation of training effectiveness. Exposure to working in an organization involved in training would be an added advantage.
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills, strong listening skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels in the organization.
- Experience in conducting organizational, program level, and individual training needs analysis; experience in conducting competency mapping, career planning, and performance development planning exercises.
- Good knowledge of the training/learning-related offerings available in the market, including relevant training organizations and service providers.
