Teach For India is a non-profit organization working to eliminate educational inequity in India.  With a network of over 4600 alumni working across the education system, they impact the lives of millions of children.  Currently in their fourth strategic phase, they aim to cultivate 50,000 leaders over the next decade to transform the education of 1 in 10 low-income children.  Their work focuses on strengthening their Fellowship program, scaling impact through additional fellowships, strategically matching alumni to system needs, advocating for educational equity, and fostering collective action among alumni.

 

**Position Summary:**

 

The Senior Manager, Regional Partnerships (SMRP) will be responsible for driving large-scale projects and fostering excellence in the Bengaluru region. Reporting to the City Director and managing a team of 2-3 individuals, the SMRP will contribute to strategic planning, annual goals, and operational plans.  This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, team management, and strategic decision-making skills.  The SMRP will be a key member of the City Leadership Team.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* **Deepening Government Relationships:**  Collaborate with the Government Relations Manager to build sustainable relationships with senior government officials and source large-scale partnerships to advance educational equity.  Advocate for policy changes and identify opportunities for alumni engagement within the government.

* **Fostering Alumni Collectives:** Develop strategies and action plans to support alumni organizations, create learning spaces, and nurture collaboration among alumni entrepreneurs and the Regional Alumni Chapter committee.

* **Sourcing Career Opportunities for Fellows & Alumni:** Identify and engage with organizations to create opportunities for Fellows and Alumni, cultivate a pipeline of key alumni, and match them to relevant roles.  Build an ecosystem of donors and partners to accelerate their work.

* **Building the Fellowship Pipeline:** Advance Teach For India’s brand, develop partnerships with academic institutions and youth organizations, and enhance operations to facilitate volunteering and internship opportunities.  Ensure effective matriculation processes for new Fellows.

* **Fostering a Movement for Educational Equity:** Establish and leverage the Regional board, advance key policy shifts, develop a mobilizing community, forge coalitions, and cultivate a network of advocates.

* **People Management:** Build a strong talent pipeline, manage and coach the team, drive engagement and retention, and oversee a monitoring and evaluation system.

* **Senior Manager Responsibilities:** Contribute to broader team goals, drive internal alignment, serve as a Teach For India ambassador, and support organizational areas like recruitment, fundraising, and volunteering.

 

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* **Minimum Qualifications:** Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any field; 5-8+ years of relevant experience in external-facing roles (e.g., public relations, government relations, management consulting, business development); strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; experience collaborating with diverse groups and making strategic decisions; experience building relationships and influencing others; experience managing and coaching high-performing teams; experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

* **Preferred Qualifications:** Experience in the development/education sector; experience creating learning experiences for adults; regional language proficiency.
