Summary:

EI Shiksha is a vertical of EI that exclusively works with low-income, government schools and with non-profit partners. Shiksha leverages EI’s expertise in technology-based personalised adaptive learning to build solutions and design programs contextualised specifically for B-o-P settings. This is done in collaboration with government institutions, international grant makers, corporate foundations, and NGOs.

Within Ei Shiksha, one division – Mindspark – works towards adoption of our EdTech learning solution ‘Mindspark’ in low income settings. We have decades of experience in designing and implementing programs to use Mindspark in government schools and after school centres, and impact evaluation studies have proven the positive impact of our interventions. Another division – Assessments – focuses on designing and implementing bespoke assessment solutions for various institutions (e.g. Board exam reform projects with CBSE, ICSE and State Govts.; Capacity building of institutions by building assessment cells; Conducting large scale assessments and impact evaluation studies, etc.

Ei Shiksha is looking to hire Senior Managers for both verticals – Mindspark and Assessments.

Key Expectations and Responsibilities:

  • Ideal candidates for this position will have proven management experience in a highly dynamic setting, are ambitious, performance-oriented with exceptional people skills.
  • Prepare strategic roadmaps and implementation plans with goals and milestones
  • Lead the strategy, design, implementation and review of projects
  • Set up project management processes and guidelines and ensure that all activities are driving towards the defined goals
  • Put in systems to effectively monitor and track the initiatives planned under the roadmap
  • Work closely with and build strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers (e.g. Senior bureaucrats, NGOs, implementation partners, research partners, other Govt. stakeholders) to design solutions and build their capacity
  • Excellent data analysis skills, and strong focus synthesis, reporting and communication of findings to relevant stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Development of annual / quarterly goals, detailed budget planning, leading operations, implementation and ensuring timely reporting
  • Lead the team, attract, hire and retain talent, and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive work environment
  • Mentor and motivate team members, and build in capacity building mechanisms for their growth and development 

Must haves:

  • Strong project management experience in relevant settings (prior experience in education, working with Govt. or non-profits is a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to analyse data, craft possible solutions, and recommend actions
  • Ability to advocate and maintain strong relations with senior external stakeholders and clients
  • A keen interest in understanding and leveraging Ei’s expertise in pedagogy, assessments and technology, and build solutions based on this knowledge
  • Fluent verbal and written communications in English (including report writing, written and verbal presentations)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ‘can-do’ attitude, ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Experience managing and leading large teams
  • Willingness to travel and maintain a grounded approach by engaging directly with teams working on last mile delivery
