Shishu Bhojan 

Project Shishu Bhojan focuses on providing nutritional support to the child to ensure that every child has quality food and receives the required nutrition to develop towards their developmental milestones. To also ensure that the family sustains this nutritional choice, Indus Action will work extensively towards their welfare benefits supporting the family as a whole. 

Indus Action will conduct surveys to assess the baseline level of nutritional outcomes and understand the needs of families and communities on the ground. The team will also map the family and onboard them to the program with their consent. A group of champions (within the community) will be mapped  to the area to support and train them in order to implement the project. The Program Coordinator and the champions will work alongside the families to support the child’s nutritional needs and monitor the growth of the child through the pilot and beyond. Learnings from this experience will be translated into inputs for scaling the programme and for transferability into other contexts. 

Requirements

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Recruit and build a team of field champions
  • Support community champions on a day-to-day basis
  • Support awareness-building activities with families around nutrition and early childhood development.
  • Conduct field visits to identify and familiarize themselves with families in the project
  • Capacity building of on-ground personnel in conducting surveys, implementing Shishu Bhojan Abhiyaan
  • Monitoring day-to-day implementation of the project
  • Periodic analysis of data generated on the project 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • A Graduate or Postgraduate in Nutrition and Dietetics, Public Health, Public Policy, Social Work or related fields
  • Must have: Field/community engagement experience
  • Good to have: Fellowship experience
  • Minimum of 1- 2 years of work experience (Fellowship experience can be counted)
  • Have worked briefly in health sector, primarily on child nutrition preferably

Benefits

Compensation: 

The range of compensation will be between 2.3-7 LPA depending on qualifications, experience and fit to the role.

Location: 

The position will be based out of Delhi (North Zone).
