**Job Description: Sr. Manager – Livelihoods**

 

**Location:** Hybrid (Lucknow Office or Government Department)  

**Salary Range:** Competitive salary commensurate with experience  

 

**Qualifications Required:**  

– MBA in Agribusiness or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, Social Policy, Economics, or related fields from reputed institutions such as IIM, ISB, IIT, IIFM, IRMA, JNU, TISS, University of Hyderabad, Azim Premji University, etc.  

 

**Experience Required:**  

– Close to 10 years of experience in consulting or International NGOs (INGOs) in livelihood promotion interventions, particularly supporting large-scale Government interventions at the national or state level.  

– Experience working embedded with Government departments.  

– Experience in monitoring and evaluating livelihood and poverty alleviation activities for impact assessment.  

– Experience providing training and support on livelihoods interventions and tools.  

– Experience facilitating liaison with skill-building institutes (public, private, CSR).  

– Experience preparing analytical reports and presentations for Government reviews.  

– Demonstrated ability to coordinate with key stakeholders, including Government departments, local-level organizations, academic institutions, and CSRs.  

 

**Skills and Competencies:**  

– Strong communication skills, including academic writing and data visualization.  

– Preference for candidates comfortable writing in Hindi and English.  

– Flexibility in working arrangements.

**About the Role:**  

The Sr. Manager – Livelihoods will support the development of livelihood strategies for ultra-poor households, collaborating with Government Departments, implementation partners, local academic institutes, and CSRs. Key responsibilities include:  

– Designing farm and non-farm-based livelihood options tailored to target communities.  

– Analyzing value chains, identifying challenges, and proposing mitigation strategies.  

– Mapping and facilitating access to Government schemes for skill development, employment generation, and financial assistance.  

– Staying updated on industry trends and integrating best practices into interventions.  

– Preparing analytical presentations, concept papers, and human-interest stories.  

– Conducting periodic field visits and supporting project reviews with Government departments.  

 

**Reporting To:** Team Lead  

 

This role requires close collaboration with senior Government leadership, multiple welfare departments, and implementation partners, as well as academia and corporate houses to ensure sustainable poverty alleviation for ultra-poor households.
