About the project:

Plan India is going to implement a project with the aim to build foundational skills of girls & boys using a comprehensive remedial learning program for grades 6-10 through community- based tuition support, to provide basic study materials for girls studying in grades 6-10 and to develop a cadre of local youth leaders (girls& boys)/community volunteers who can support promoting quality education during an emergency and become change agent in their community. To Pilot a pre-loaded contents offline/online digital learning module through economy tablets/K-Yan- Integrated Community Computer/smart class set up (9-10 Grades). Four pronged approach to be adopted i.e. 1) awareness generation; 2) community engagement; 3) Strengthening service delivery and 4) innovation in last mile delivery. Key project activities will be establishment & strengthening of the community- based Remedial Learning Centres at the identified project locations i.e., 50 locations in 5 urban cities & 50 rural villages of 3 states (Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand, Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, Pune & Chennai), it will provide digital learning tools/smart classes at the 40 community centers or government schools in the respective geographies , promote girls’ agency through socio-emotional learning & career counselling workshops , train & mentor local youth as fellows on remedial & digital learning pedagogy & assessment , provide education kits/study materials to the poor & vulnerable girls and will organize community campaign to promote girls education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure day to day project operational activities are carried out with quality, data is tracked and key learnings are documented
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Communicate with the team and ensure delivery of projects on time ensuring quality standards are met
  • Develop support documentation including risk logs and requirement specifications
  • Led remediation activities from site assessment to installation and operation/maintenance of remedial & digital centres.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Track project costs in order to meet budget
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
    Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Generate web content, newsletters, reports, tweets and other communications and sharing it with the Project manager

Education: Post Graduate degree in computer science, business, or a related field

Minimum graduate (preferably teaching experience in Science, Mathematics, Computer science or English, Commerce / Management or other relevant social sciences)

Experience, Skill & Competencies:

  • Excellent project coordination skills, managing projects from inception through to completion and evaluation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with partners across the private, public and voluntary sectors
  • Highly organised with an ability to prioritise, work under pressure and deliver against set targets to agreed deadlines
  • Ability to manage and track multiple projects, often with competing deadlines
  • Effective time management skills and interpersonal skills including negotiation, persuasion, flexibility and problem solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate messages clearly and concisely in an engaging style consistent with Plan India
  • Thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Ability to work in a team spirit with good communication in Hindi and English;
  • Should be sensitive to the mission and vision of Plan India.
