ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY – AVP, PROGRAM DESIGN

For the last ten years, Medha has delivered a unique experiential learning program to young people in the ‘Hindi-belt.’

Based on the Four Cs of 21st-century skills – communications, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking – the program aims to prepare young people to start and excel in diverse career paths of their choice.

Constantly upgraded and enhanced, the program has evolved significantly over the last decade, along with changing student and market demands. As we look to the future of learning and work, we are doubling down on the program’s transformative impact on young people’s lives.

The AVP Program Design will help us do just that – taking our core programs into the next decade with an aim to make them the most innovative, impactful, and influential in the industry.  You will have the opportunity to bring your ideas, experience, and vision to the platform we have created here at Medha. One that touches the lives of tens of thousands of students across hundreds of educational institutions in Tier II, III, and IV cities.

What you will do:

This position will involve a mix of:

Design and Development:

Manage a small team of program designers responsible for the entire design lifecycle. As a mentor and guide, you will bring your expertise and ideas to help them innovate, solve problems, and ultimately deliver world-class programming for students.

Strategy and Planning:

Develop the future roadmap for Medha’s core program(s) and put a plan in place to execute against it. Work across the organization to take inputs and build consensus around the program’s future direction.

Ecosystem Engagement:

Learn from and contribute to emerging practices, approaches, and learnings in the sector to improve Medha’s programming and increase our knowledge sharing.

Team Building:

Identify expertise gaps, enhance team capacity, and plan and address hiring needs based on current and future requirements.

What your day might look like:

While no two days are the same, some may look like this:

  • You meet a program design manager to share feedback on a new group activity they developed.
  • You connect with Cluster Heads to learn about emerging needs from state university students.
  • You join a funder field visit to share the two-year roadmap for the core program.
  • You have a working session with the Impact and Data team to finalize a Rapid Impact Assessment.
  • You end the day by speaking at a virtual conclave of livelihoods practitioners in UP.

Things we are looking for:

  • A human-centric design thinker who has experience working on similar issues with youth and young adults.
  • An intrapreneur who can ‘sell and idea’ and motivate diverse stakeholders, teams, and peers to bring a concept to life.
  • A believer in openly sharing ideas with an innate ability to create space for discussion and discovery.
  • Someone who hates the ‘chalta hai’ mentality as much as we do.
  • A mentor more than a manager who believes in building a team and giving them space to grow and learn independently.

Why should you work for Medha?

  • A passionate team that is committed to a shared mission.
  • Grassroots ethos connected to its student community (no ivory towers here).
  • Audacious goals and vision to impact millions of young people and India’s growth story.
  • New initiatives and exciting projects to get involved in and learn from.
  • An informal and fun work environment that doesn’t compromise on performance.
  • Space to explore and find your own solutions and path (no micromanaging).

Our hiring process:

Our goal is to be as transparent and respectful of your time during the recruiting process. We use a technology platform to ensure the hiring process is comprehensive, efficient, and well documented.
