About the Accounting Operations and Payments Assistant

The Accounting Operations and Payments assistant will work closely with colleagues in the accounting function and with project teams, to ensure transactions are processed on time and accurately. This position will support the finance operations of Idinsight, both in India and in our other offices, including in Africa and SouthEast Asia.

Reports to – This position will report to the Manager of Finance Operations.

Responsibilities

The Accounting Operations and Payments Assistant’s responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

  • Reviewing and approving backup for payments and other transactions
  • Processing of payments
  • Creation of invoices
  • Reconciling source information to accounting information
  • Creating reports, particularly in Excel, and tracking relevant metrics
  • Researching and responding to inquiries from others in the organization regarding financial and related information
  • Submit payroll information to third party service provider to process reporting and other statutory compliance requirements
  • Initiate payments on the bank portal
  • Other activities as required

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 2 or more years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payments, or administration.
  • Proficient with computer, MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Possess good communication abilities; is organized and efficient. Should be able to communicate needs and updates within and outside the team.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working with teams and possess strong people skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in high-paced work environment
  • Willingness to take on all kinds of tasks and areas of responsibility; take on tasks at short notice
  • Comfort in English (understanding, writing, and speaking)
  • Possesses honesty, integrity, strong work ethic, and team skills

Location

Location is New Delhi, India. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and track record.

Start date

Start dates are flexible but with a preference for sooner.

Work authorization

IDinsight is not able to sponsor work authorization for this role. Successful candidates will not require IDinsight to sponsor their work authorization in the office in which they’ll be based.
