At Aangan, our Trainers enable the most marginalised groups to participate in decisions that affect them directly. They help build trust as well as create strong communication channels between the community (specifically women and girls) and the Police. 

To keep this ecosystem humming, our Trainers get to the root – a. they engage meaningfully with women and girls in the community b. identify gaps and create platforms for women and girls to access their rights to safety, education and participation c. they coach women and girls until they are able to take concrete steps to ensure safety from various harm and risks.

As an Associate, Training, you can expect to be doing the following

Conduct monthly training with the volunteers from specific blocks
Undertake and assist in training sessions with women and girls from bastis across districts in Patna and Muzzafarpur to:
Articulate clearly the causes and consequences of issues faced by them w.r.t safety
Leverage the knowledge of laws and regulation to benefit women and girls
Use tools/mediums to bring out and understand issues raised by other women and girls from the community
Negotiate and influence local stakeholders
Educate and mobilise other women and girls to participate in raising issues of safety
Inspire and motivate women volunteers through training with the objective to build their knowledge and skills on child protection
Be a part of a pool of trainers at Aangan who contribute to building internal capacity for training and facilitation
Instil a sense of ownership and group cohesiveness among the women volunteers and draw from them relevant experiences and local knowledge
Coordinate with the field teams and support in planning and implementing the program in order to ensure a sustainable work model.
Regular interaction with the anchor officials and other local stakeholders to ensure their involvement and accountability towards the program
Observe and capture trends, identify gaps and issues and provide solutions to address gaps in a timely fashion
Collate and develop case studies and stories from the field 
Work closely with the Data officers in collecting and collating data from the field and using the data in strategizing the implementation plan
Systematically address gaps in implementation as a result of the training and ensure that overall outcomes are being met through sessions
Creating cross learning opportunities among volunteers

Competencies and Abilities

3+ years of prior training experience
Excellent communication skills that spans across community based women and govt. officials. 
Proficiency in Hindi and English.

Creative and critical thinking ability

Ability to motivate an attitude of learning before, during and after the classroom sessions

Willingness to listen and learn and respect different perspectives brought into the sessions

Organized and ability to manage time well

Willingness to travel

Education and Experience

Graduate/Post Graduate.

At least 2 years of experience in the area of Child Protection or community based work 
Experience with training groups of adults preferred
