Pratham Digital aims to create an open learning mechanism enabling children and youth to prepare for school, work and life.

The various programs work on a hybrid model of learning involving digital content, technology and hands on experimentation. Pratham Digital has produced over 7000 videos, 1000 games and stories in English and 12 Indian languages. These resources can be viewed on www.prathamopenschool.org

Pratham strives to make content engaging and interesting for learners. With the focus on creating contextualized content, the program curates and/or creates different courses, making learning a choice driven process.

Pratham’s digital content falls under three important domains – Learning for School, Learning for Work and Learning for Life.

About Learning for Life

We at Pratham Digital believe that to lead a good life in today’s world, one needs to be, among other things –

• Physically, mentally, emotionally healthy
• Conscious about the environment for sustainable future
• Creative in developing skills
• Socially conscious of the society and world around them.

As the name suggests, ‘Learning for Life’ domain focuses on these important aspects of lifelong learning by integrating 21st century skills, socio-emotional learning and sustainable development goals. It works with children from 6 to 14 years as well as youth above the age of 14.

In a hybrid model, the domain works on 4 major buckets –

• Creative Arts
• Environment
• Health
• Understanding Society

This involves creating age appropriate digital content, running awareness campaigns in the community, organizing workshops, conducting various courses and activities with children and youth. For these purposes, Life domain collaborates with various subject experts and external partners.

Content Developer (Creative Arts) – Roles and Responsibilities

The creative arts bucket under ‘life’ domain aims to foster creative imagination and expression among children and youth based on the 4Ex framework –

• Exposure to a variety of arts and art forms
• Exploration of self and surrounding
• Experimentation with hands on creation
• Exchange of creative thought and ideas

We are looking for a creative person who can contribute and support timely creation of content packages.

This would include –

• Designing age appropriate art curriculum
• Ideating and planning content production
• Identification of and communication with various artists, museums, organizations
• Designing creative activities
• Creating and executing training and implementation plans

Responsibilities –

• Coordinate with different teams within Pratham as well as external partners to create and/or curate engaging creative art content
• Design and conduct (or moderate) art workshops in collaboration with external artists
• Design courses and activities based on the requirements of your target group or program
• Design yearly plans for the creative arts bucket and ensure timely creation
• Conduct and monitor pilots and/or roll out of programs

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

Required:

● Minimum graduate degree (In fine art, design, performing arts would be advantageous but not necessary)
● Basic subject knowledge of any art
● Ability to think creatively and convert those ideas into actions
● Ability to contribute ideas and suggestions at every stage of content production
● Strong command over written (typing) and oral English and Hindi (Any other Indian language would be advantageous)
● Excellent communication skills
● Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
● Proficient in use of MS Word, Excel, PPT, Google Drive
● Willingness to travel to field areas on requirement basis

● Passionate about the subject and work
● Ability to learn on the job
● Ability to resolve issues and obstacles
● Good team player as well as capacity to individually handle a project
● Leadership qualities

Preferred:

• Formal training in any of the visual or performing arts
• Ability to write scripts
• Audio-visual editing skills

Number of Positions: 1
This is a full-time position on a yearly contract basis.

Location: Mumbai or Delhi or Pune (Remote working till offices re-open)

Remuneration:

Remuneration will be finalized on the basis of experience and skill sets. (Negotiable for exceptional candidates)

Art is often seen as quite elitist and unapproachable for the common person. However, in a culturally diverse country like India, we are surrounded by different kinds of art that go unnoticed.
Choose any 1 Indian art form – visual or performing and suggest creative ways of designing digital content (not necessarily internet based) to introduce the art form it to children between 10 to 14 years of age.

Based on the above submissions, suitable candidates will be shortlisted for an online interview. There may be another round of assignment submission before the final selection.
