Position Summary:
- The Manager, Regional Partnerships will be a part of the Regional Partnerships Vertical, leading
- Teach for India’s initiatives with external stakeholders towards a sustainable systemic impact on educational equity within the region.
- The role involves working closely with social organizations in the region, Teach For India alumni, as well as working with Fellows, students and other school teachers and leaders within and outside our Teach For India intervention schools, to create the necessary conditions to achieve the vision and objectives of the Regional Strategic Roadmap.
- The Manager, Regional Partnerships, will contribute as a thought partner to the City Director and to select Vertical Heads (Government Relations, Alumni Impact, Careers) on strategy, annual goals, and operational plans.
- They will hold an integrated view of these verticals at a city level, leading progress through cross-vertical collaboration and strong team management and execution.
- They will also play an active role in tactical and strategic decision-making, design and planning of interventions and team culture management as a City Leadership Team member.
Responsibilities:
As Manager, Regional Partnerships; your responsibilities include:
1. Fellow Recruitment:
Lead Regional Recruitment Strategy:
- Develop and implement a targeted recruitment strategy for Hyderabad that identifies and attracts top talent from the local region for the Teach For India Fellowship program.
Build University & College Partnerships: - Partner with colleges and universities in Hyderabad to create awareness about the Fellowship program, develop recruitment pipelines, and identify potential Fellows.
Engage Local Communities: - Collaborate with social organizations and community leaders in Hyderabad to reach diverse talent pools and ensure a broad representation of future Fellows from the region.
Screening and Selection: - Participate in the selection process for potential Fellows from Hyderabad, ensuring a rigorous and fair evaluation of their skills and commitment to educational equity.
2. Program Partnerships: - Building a larger movement for educational equity within partner schools in Teach For India and outside.
- Engage School Leaders and Head Masters (HMs) of our partner schools and other schools in the region towards deepening their understanding of our movement, creating champions, and building more leaders in the region.
- Visit partner schools and classrooms; build relationships and invest our school stakeholders in the vision and mission of Teach For India.
3. Sourcing career opportunities for Fellows & Alumni:
Develop Career Pathways:
- Design and implement strategies to connect Fellows in Hyderabad with relevant career opportunities aligned with their skills and aspirations.
- Identify and engage with organizations that serve children from low-income communities in the region, by providing opportunities for them to interact with and hire from our Fellow & Alumni pool.
Employer Engagement: - Cultivate relationships with organizations serving low-income communities in the region to create a pipeline of potential employers and match them to roles aligned to the regional vision and their personal aspirations.
Fellowship Alumni Network: - Leverage the network of Teach For India alumni in Hyderabad to provide mentorship, career guidance, and professional development opportunities for current Fellows.
- Build an ecosystem of donors and other relevant partners that accelerate our work in the region, especially where barriers to entry are high.
As a Manager at Teach For India, your responsibilites include: - Contributing to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities.
- Serving as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after commiting time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply.
- Supporting with key organizational areas such as Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, Movement Building
Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations:
- 2-4 years of work experience managing teams and projects to excellent outcomes at scale.
- Strong sense of possibility with what is possible for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
- Strong competence in negotiating with a diverse set of stakeholders towards Teach For India’s vision and desired outcomes.
- Experience of having built strong relationships and having influenced others without authority.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and work through unstructured environments.
- Ability to manage self, team, and time amidst multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations: - Previous experience working in the development/education sector.
- Experience in building and managing high-functioning teams to targeted outcomes.
- Experience of having created, deep, meaningful learning experiences and resources for adults through strong design-thinking capabilities, addressing both dynamic and diverse learning needs of individuals.
- Experience in building and managing high-functioning teams to targeted outcomes.
- Regional language proficiency in Telugu is preferred.
