Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Urban Health Team (National, State, and City) and state government counterparts to develop, implement, and monitor state specific RMNCH+A activities/ identified priorities under the project including the development of roadmaps, work plans, etc
  • LEAD RMNCH+A activities under the urban health project and define milestones and timelines to ensure efficient progress.
  • Liaison and support the Government at the State level to provide technical expertise in RMNCH+A activities and support the integration of RMNCH+A services in Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs).
  • Devise RMNCH+A strategies, activities, and approaches that are evidence-based and aligned with the Government of India’s and donor’s priorities.
  • Support in the strengthening of Family Planning services under the ambit of Comprehensive
  • Primary Health Care (CPHC) and provide adequate technical guidance on strengthening the availability of FP commodities at HWCs, improving service quality, and effective implementation of priority FP interventions.
  • Build capacities of primary healthcare teams for providing high-quality RMNCH+A services to the communities.
  • Develop job aids, training materials, capacity-building tools, monitoring framework, communication tools, etc. for RMNCH+A activities for the community, healthcare providers, and front-line workers.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, impactful presentations, and documentation effectively communicating project progress.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other RMNCH+A partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/national or state leadership from time to time for the smooth functioning of the program and to achieve program goals.
  • Available to travel up to 20-30% of the time.
     

Required Experience and qualifications.:

  • BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ B.Sc. Nursing is preferred with an essential Master/ PG Diploma in Public Health or Health Management.
  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience in public health, including field experience in the RMNCH+A is desirable.
  • Prior experience working in similar roles, primary healthcare, or urban health settings is desirable.
  • Technical knowledge and field experience in planning and implementation of public health programs.
  • Experience with INGOs in the health sector and/ or Ministries of Health, and government is preferable.
  • Familiarity with the Indian public health system, flagship initiatives in the healt with a high degree of autonomy and independence in line with project goals and objectives.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and Hindi.
    Direct experience of independently liaising with government health functionaries, district level administrators and other development partners.
  • Data analysis, data visualization, analytical thinking and strong coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate in a matrix organizational structure.
  • Computer proficiency with high level of familiarity with commonly used packages like MS Word,
  • Excel, Power Point, Outlook & Web surfing to search relevant data & documents.
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
     
    Note: This position is currently till September 30, 2024 with a possibility of extension based on the availability of funds and extension of the project.
