RFP: Community Development Initiatives in India by United Way India

United Way India is India’s leading philanthropy network, UWI drives social change by mobilizing communities and helping individuals achieve their human potential through our programs focusing on education, healthcare, livelihood, diversity, inclusion, and a sustainable environment. United Way operates in India through a national office and a strong network of seven local chapters. Affiliated to the global United Way network — one of the world’s largest privately funded, non-profit organizations, we are part of a 135-year-old volunteer-led global movement of 1200+ community chapters across 40+ countries, engaging over 1.5 million volunteers.

Following would be the key requisites under the initiative for which we request your Financial & Technical Proposals for consideration:

A. Environment Sustainability

A.1 Water body Restoration projects in Delhi NCR/Mumbai/Pune/ Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Chennai

A.2 Miyawaki Plantation with 2-Year Maintenance for 10,000 Sapling Plantation: Mumbai/Pune/ Bengaluru/ Delhi NCR

A.3 Solar Electrification in rural India in the states of Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu

A.4 Circular Economy Project for Solid Waste Management in the states of Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan

B. Skill Development Initiatives

B.1 Empowering Transgender People with Skilling program along with at least 70% placements in the Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Rohtak (Haryana), Kasna (UP), Patancheru (Telangana), Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu), Ankaleshwar (Gujarat),  Sriperumbudur (Tamil Nadu), Mysuru (Karnataka), Vizag

C. Digital Education Promotion

C.1 Setting up of Tinkering Labs in Govt. Schools (PAN INDIA)

C.2 Setting up of Mini Science Labs in Govt. Schools (PAN INDIA)

D. WASH Intervention

D.1 Constructing WASH Platforms and safe toilets in Govt. schools for Students along with BCC activity

D.2 Promoting Menstrual Health Hygiene Projects among Adolescent Girls and Women (PAN India any location especially Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra)

One organisation can apply for more than one project as deemed fit.

The Proposals should be addressed to United Way of India, 501, Sun Vision Spenta, 3rd Road, Khar West, Mumbai – 400052, Maharashtra, India and sent procurement@uwindia.org with Subject as UWI Proposal – Thematic Area”  by 24th June 2023.

The organisations applying need to be a private entity with following requisites:

  1. Incorporation/registration certificate/Partnership Deed.
  2. Valid PAN
  3. GST certificate
  4. Minimum 3 Years of Past experience working on similar interventions
  5. Past 3 Years Audit Finance Report.
