Job Opportunity for Associate Fellow, Health Policy at Centre for Social and Economic Progress in New Delhi

The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) is seeking to hire an Associate Fellow to work on ongoing and proposed research on health policy. The specific areas of work will include, though not limited to, two key areas that impact health delivery and health expenditure:

  • The institutional landscape governing and administering health delivery, for both public and curative health
  • Roles of public and private providers and financers, in India’s mixed health system

Responsibilities include:

  • Conceive, implement, and publish research on India’s health systems
  • Analyse policy and systems in the health sector, with a view to informing policy and system reform with a focus on:
    a) the architecture, organisation and governance of health systems
    b) the institutional landscape at centre and state levels
    c) public and private systems, their roles and financial control with respect to delivery of health services, and their potential partnerships
  • Engage with relevant policy makers and other stakeholders around analysis and recommendations
  • Work with other scholars in planning and executing research and outreach on related topics
  • Curate and implement seminars/conferences to generate a policy discourse on the above

Key requisites:

  • Advanced degree in Economics, Public Policy, Public Health
  • Prior experience (between 5 – 10 years) in, and a good understanding of health policy and systems in India and ideally global comparators as well
  • Knowledge of and experience with public and private health provision will be an advantage
  • Understanding of key macro and sectoral data and relevant policymaking bodies
  • Ability to undertake research independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Ability to work/guide on multiple studies simultaneously, independently or with guidance from senior/distinguished fellows
