Position: Analyst – Policy Engagements
Overview
Swaniti Initiative is in the process of providing technical assistance to the parliamentarians or state governments on several climate/labor/energy/health/nutrition/rural development or related issues. We are looking for a passionate individual who is keen on working with various crucial stakeholders like parliamentarians, state governments, districts’ administration, and international or regional NGOs & CBOs. The chosen individuals shall work for supporting and facilitating the partnering organizations and policy stakeholders like Parliamentarians and Bureaucrats to design interventions on various key Government Flagship programs. Tasks would range from conducting outreach, secondary and primary research, data evaluation, policy analysis, partner management, and developing strategies for policy interventions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- A major chunk of time will be dedicated to the outcome-oriented outreach to elected representatives.
- Conduct extensive research on policies and programs to develop advanced insights and reports which may be used by stakeholders.
- Extending research support to the policymakers on parliamentary interventions
- Curating events, roundtable conferences, issue briefings and related complementing documents for parliamentarians on macro policy issues
- Coordinating logistics for events
- Maintaining an internal record of the impact
- Develop policy briefs, media pieces, and other knowledge pieces that may be used for the dissemination of relevant knowledge and information to the stakeholders.
- Undertake field visits as and when required
- Coordinating with other teams to drive internal processes
- Participate in internal capacity building initiatives
- Represent the organisation on various platforms
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, Law, or other related social science streams
- Minimum 2 years of prior experience in engaging with government institutions will be strongly preferred
Skills & Aptitude:
- Polished communication skills
- Awareness about government policies, schemes and functioning
- Exposure to the development sector, especially NGO interventions
Organizational skills
- Strategic thinking and problems solving skills
- A team player with project handling abilities
- Details oriented and analytical
Remuneration: Commensurate with market standards and relevant experience
